This custom horizontal cedar privacy fence we recently finished in Douglas MI is a great example. Using an alternating pattern of 1×6 and 1×3 horizontal cedar pickets, this fence design creates a modern look with a throwback to the mid-century. Constructed by the team lead by a veteran wood craftsman, Greg’s attention to detail along with Bobby’s tenacity is highlighted in this beautiful fence.
Since cedar does not last in the ground, the posts were constructed from treated lumber and wrapped in cedar. This will ensure the longevity of the fence while giving strength and thickness to the post. The posts were then topped with an attractive cedar cap.
